BANKRUPTCY

Bankruptcy is a federal court process designed to help individuals and businesses eliminate their debts or repay them under the protection of the bankruptcy court. Bankruptcies can generally be described as liquidation or reorganization. Under a liquidation bankruptcy (Chapter 7), a claimant files to eliminate debt through the bankruptcy court. Under a reorganization bankruptcy (Chapter 13), a claimant files a plan with the bankruptcy court proposing to repay creditors.

She is a graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law and practices in the areas of health care policy, regulation/compliance, licensing/credentialing, health plan administration, bankruptcy and domestic relations. Atty. Jones serves clients in Illinois and North Carolina. Atty. Jones completed her advance legal studies in Health Law and Policy at Loyola University -Chicago and received her LL.M in Health Law Regulation. She is admitted in the following Courts: North Carolina, 1998 Illinois, 1998, U.S. District Court, Middle District of North Carolina, 1999 U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina, 1999 U.S. District Court, Western District of North Carolina, 2011, U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois 2005, U.S. District Court Central District of Illinois. Atty. Jones is a certified Superior Court Mediator/Family Financial Mediator, an American Health Lawyer's Association Certified Arbitrator and serves as a civil litigation Arbitrator in several judicial districts. She is a health care compliance trainer with Mentor Health and frequently presents on Advance Family Law topics with National Business Institute. Atty. Jones is a licensed real estate and title agent professional.
